We believe, gardening in schools is a necessity. Through the combined efforts of the school principal Mrs. Jocelyn A. Limosinero teaching and non teaching personnel, parents and students we have successfully cultivated the school's Gulayan sa Paaralan which contributes beneficial factors to the school and its community.
School vegetables garden is a great way for the students to learn about where their food comes from and to get them excited about eating fresh vegetables.
Under the responsibility of the teacher in charge Mr. Lee C. Marquez Gulayan sa Paaralan coordinator the garden work with the help of a garden team, the Young Farmers club composed of grade 6 students.
They are well motivated and involve themselves in daily gardening chores like watering, seed propagation and harvesting.
The garden also aims for an organic farming. It can serves environment and natural resources, re-establishing ecological balance, encouraging sustainable agriculture, improving soil fertility by putting an end to chemical pollution and toxic residue.
The garden also supports the school feeding program by producing the needs of the students under the program keeping them healthy and strong.
The Gulayan sa Paaralan program of our dear schools is not just aiming to zero the malnourishement problem of our school but also to encourage every family in our community to plant vegetables in their respective houses so that there is always food in their plate to serve for their families.
